So good! I agree with your assessment about the market being too small, especially considering the cheaper options around the world. Is there a version of this that you think*could* work?
I was hesitant to be specific about the opportunities as longevity science is so nascent, but this is a good question. Let's say "work" here means to be profitable AND help people. I think:
- The super high-end options like this one need to do much more than just diagnostics. They need to provide access to specialist doctors --- e.g., dementia specialists, cancer, etc. so that if something big is picked up, people are able to get the real help they need (albeit at a huge price)
- We need to democratize the longevity space. It can't be just for the uber-wealthy. There should be better payment plans for diagnostic tests that work, and better control over ones that don't to protect consumers. Likewise with science-backed longevity treatments, as these emerge.
- There's space for tech-based support to help people implement the behavior changes associated with longevity. Not easy to do, but someone is going to get it right. And they are going to coin it (rightly so)
Longevity is for sure the new buzzword
And along with it are a bunch of buzzy startups. Some will help us add healthy years to our lives. Others... might shave a few off 😂
